REASSEMBLY

Field Station

Fundación Jocotoco owns and maintains a main research station in Canandé plus several huts in the reserve, and a second station is available in Tesoro Esconido. An excellent, new research station – the Chocó Lab – has now been built (short video). See also the presentation by Jocotoco. The lab and stations are open to scientists and the public outside the Research Unit and can be booked via Jocotours. REASSEMBLY will serve as a platform for international collaborations with scientists and conservation practicioners and share all necessary information. Please contact the scientific coordinator if you want to use the plots or the scientific framework.

From a remote house to a modern lab: old lodge of Canandé Reserve (left, until 2022) and new Chocó Lab (right, opened in 2022).

For a first glimpse into the fauna, you can view (and contribute to) to great image collections in iNaturalist for Canandé and Tesoro reserve. Phil Hönle from our group has contributed very good shots from >200 species here.
